Volleyball in London

Volleyball in England is organised at a variety of different levels. You can play for

• student teams that compete in BUSA and the EVA Student Cup,
• for a local club that competes in a regional league (eg. London League)
• or/and for a National League team that competes nationally.

If you are really keen, you can compete at ALL the different levels and even for different clubs, since these three levels function and run completely independently of each other.

Each of these three levels then offers different divisions or tiers (usually three, see the individual sections or websites for more details). You are not allowed to play in different divisions of the same level (e.g. N1 and N2).

The general level of volleyball is lower and more heterogeneous in England than in most other European countries, but there are still some very good players and teams around. Also, as a consequence of London's successful olympic bid for 2012, veritable efforts are being made to raise the level of the game.
